The Sweet Briar Card is the official identification card of Sweet Briar College. It is issued to all members of the College Community and is required for identification and access to essential campus services. It also offers a convenient account formaking purchases on and around campus. All students, faculty, and staff at Sweet Briar College are currently eligible to receive a Sweet Briar Card.
Students should have received their Sweet Briar Card during orientation.

Faculty & Staff should have picked up their Card at Campus Safety between the hours of 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Mon. – Fri.
Immediately visit the Department of Safety, located lower level in Fletcher, or call (434) 381-6144 so that your Sweet Briar Card can be deactivated. A $20 fee will be charged to replace your card.

You can also suspend your Sweet Briar Card by logging into your account at the Cardholder Account Center.
SweetCash is a cashless, prepaid spending account on your Sweet Briar Card that is accepted around the Sweet Briar College campus. You must add value to your account before using SweetCash to make purchases. You must have sufficient value available in your SweetCash account to pay for each transaction. Each time you use your SweetCash account, the amount of the transaction will be deducted from your account. You may not spend more value than you have. Unused balances roll over semester to semester and year to year.
Your 16-digit SweetCash number is located on the front of your Sweet Briar Card below your SBC ID number.
Your SBC ID # is located on the front of your SweetBriar Card. Your SBC ID # is not your social security number, it is a unique number that is 5-8 digits in length.
The bar code on the back of your Sweet Briar Card enables you to check out materials from the Cochran Library. Currently,SweetCash can be used to pay library fines and/or to make copies.
Both accounts are accessed by your Sweet Briar Card.

Board Plans: All residential students are required to participate in the meal plan program. Those living in the Green Village are required to participate in the 10 meals per week board plan. All other residential students are required to participate in the 19 meals per week board plan. Each time you access Prothro Dining a meal is deducted from your weekly balance. Both meal plans also include 4 Guest Meals at Prothro Dining per semester. Both meal plans include $325 in Dining Dollars per term that allows each student to purchase, a la carte, items at the Houston Bistro, Daisy’s Café, and additional entries to Prothro Dining after the weekly meals have been redeemed or for guests after the Guest Meals have been exhausted.

SweetCash is a prepaid spending account that is separate from your meal plan. It’s welcomed at all campus dining locations, as well as other on and off campus locations.
Funds transferred by debit/credit card and cash are available instantly. Check deposits are available on the business day received. If a check is returned to us by your financial institution for insufficient funds, the deposit will be reversed from your SweetCash account and a Returned Payment/Check fee will be assessed. If the Returned Payment/Check fee creates a negative balance in your account, you will be contacted to make another payment to the account.
At retail locations, SweetCash works much like a debit or credit card. Just present your Sweet Briar Card for payment to the attendant at the register. Your card will be swiped in a terminal and the transaction authorized. You will need to sign a printed receipt of the approved transaction. At laundry facilities and vending machines, simply insert your card in the terminal.
SweetCash can be used at all dining locations on campus, The Book Shop, Library Services, laundry facilities, Campus UPS Shipping, and vending machines. It is also welcomed at popular local businesses. These can be identified by the “Welcomed” sticker featuring the SweetCashlogo. Click here for a complete list of accepting locations.
Cardholder suggestions are welcome and encouraged. Recommendations can be sent via e-mail to our recruitment department. Please include the name of the location and why you would like to see them join the program.

The Terms and Conditions outline program policies and terms of use for the SweetCash account. They are available for review via a link in the footer of every page on this site.
Go to SweetCash Cardholder Account Center. Under the Login button, click “Forgot your username or password?” and follow the instructions.
When resident students use their Sweet Briar Card in laundry rooms, the appropriate charge for each transaction (washers and dryers) is deducted from your “Free Laundry” account. If you have exceeded your Free Laundry credits for the semester, the system will then deduct the charges from your SweetCash account.

For non-residents, when you swipe your Sweet Briar Card, each transaction charge (washers and dryers) is deducted from your SweetCash account.

If you swipe your Sweet Briar Card and never select a machine, you will not be charged.
You may request a refund of your SweetCash Account when you graduate, withdraw, or leave Sweet Briar College. Proof of withdrawal or dismissal is required. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the College’s card program service provider by emailing mycard@sweetbriarcard.com.

If the self-service machine does not work properly, you will not be charged for the transaction. If for any reason you are charged, please email us a refund request. Please include the location, date & time of the transaction(s) in question.
